Bright Spring
Bright Spring, along with Bright Winter, is one of the brightest and most vibrant season in the 12-season system! The season possesses both Spring and Winter qualities, resulting in a palette that is bright, clear, and warm. Think of the bright colours of early spring when the grass is just starting to grow and the flowers are just starting to bloom.
The palette is marked by highly saturated, bold and lively colours that enhance the vibrant and energetic beauty of individuals with this palette.
The overall impression of Bright Spring is striking and bold, with colours that are pure and intense.
Who Falls into the Bright Spring Season?
Bright Spring is one of the most elusive and misunderstood palettes. This is because brightness is one of the tougher features to identify in a person. Bright Springs can also have any hair color, skin color, eye color and combinations. The thing that they will have in common is a bright glow and striking features that stand out in one way or another.
Remember, the only way to really determine your color season is through draping, however, there tend to be certain features that Bright Springs have, but keep in mind that there are always exceptions.
Skin: Warm undertones with a clear, radiant and bright appearance. The skin often has a peachy, golden, or ivory quality to it and seems to "radiate from within".
Eyes: Bright and clear eye colours such as bright blue, green, turquoise, or warm hazel. The eyes tend to be piercing and sparkling, with high contrast between the iris and the whites of the eyes. They will also typically have the Spring ring around the iris.
Hair: The hair can be dark auburn, golden brown, chocolate brown or black with warm, vibrant undertones. No matter the colour, the hair of a Bright Spring is vibrant with a subtle hint of warmth.
Bright Springs have a naturally bold appearance, and their best colours are those that mirror this brightness and warmth without being too muted or dark. Bright Springs need bold and intense colours to really shine as muted colours can drown them out and create a grey cast.
How Do You Know if You're a Bright Spring?
Each season has a primary, secondary, and tertiary feature. Your primary feature is your dominant and the most obvious feature. Your secondary and tertiary features might be a little less obvious and harder to determine. Your secondary and tertiary features might be a little less obvious and harder to determine, but they are still equally as important in determining your coloring. For Bright Springs, their features are the following:
Primarily Feature: Bright (chroma). The primary feature of Bright Springs is that they are bright. This will be the most noticeable thing about their appearance. Their appearance will be bright and they’ll thrive in bright colors while muted colours tend to wash them out.
Secondarily Feature: Warm (temperature). Bright Springs are neutral-warm meaning that both warm and cool colours can suit them, however, warm colours will be more flattering.
Tertiarily Feature: Light (value). Although Bright Springs are the darkest of the three spring seasons, Spring itself is still a light season. Colors that are on the lighter side will look better over very dark colors.

To determine if you are a Bright Spring, consider the following:
Chroma: Are your features more bright or muted? Can you wear bright clothing or do you look better in more muted colors? While bright colours overwhelm most other seasons, they make Bright Springs shine. If you can wear bright oranges, yellows and even neon colours, then you might be a Bright Spring!
Contrast: Are your skin, hair and eyes all a similar depth or do you have much darker hair relative to your skin? Bright Springs have the highest contrast levels of all seasons (along with Bright Winter). Your hair, skin and eye colour should be very different from each other. This could look like having black hair, bright green eyes and pale skin, or olive skin, light blue eyes and medium brown hair. At least one feature will stand out from the others as being much lighter or brighter. If your contrast is not very high, you might check out other seasons instead.
Cool vs Warm: Bright Springs are a neutral season bordering the coolness of Winter and the warmth of Spring. Hence, they can pull off both warm and cool colours provided that they are saturated enough. However, warmer shades will really make a Bright Spring come to life. If you feel like you lean more towards slightly cooler colours, then you might be a Bright Winter.
Depth: Are your features (hair, eyes, skin, lips) primarily light, medium or dark? Bright Springs can have some depth due to their contrast level, however, the majority of their features should be slightly on the lighter side.

The best way to determine your season is to do a drape test. You can either purchase a physical drape test fan or try some digital tools online like vivaldicolor.com, Dressika, and others. Or, just find different color pieces in your wardrobe, compare them to each other and take notes!
You want to look for colors that smooth your skin out, lift your jawline and bring out your eyes, lips and eyebrows. The colors should harmonise with you, not being too overpowering and also not washing you out.
Also, take note of the colors that you really don't like on yourself. This can offer some clues to your season as well.
It's important to have an unbiased opinion while going through the different steps of color analysis and to approach it with an open mind. Many people fear bright and bold colors and stay away from them and might then not even consider the possibility that they might be a bright season. Keep and open mind through the process and you might just be pleasantly surprised.
If you find that you look best in vibrant, bold, and warm colours, then you might just be a Bright Spring!
